We were invited today to check out the new menu rolling out at Famoso restaurants in the coming weeks here in Edmonton. The Magrath location currently has all the items available if you want to try them sooner! Some of the changes coming are separate lunch and dinner menus as well as new menu items.

We have been long time customers of Famoso, they have a great variety of food including tapas, pizza, salads, pasta and more! Our kids love eating there as well, especially the gelato for dessert! We tend to be creatures of habit, ordering the same thing every time we go so this was a great opportunity for my hubby and I to try some new items!

Tapas

We love sharing bites when out on a date night, it’s something we don’t often do at home so we enjoy it when we visit a restaurant. We were excited to try a variety of tapas including :

Cauliflower Artichoke Dip – roasted seasoned cauliflower, artichokes, cream cheese, cheddar, smoked mozza oven baked and served with garlic crostini. One of our favorite items we tried today, we would definitely order it again!

Charcuterie – prosciutto, soppressata, capicola, provolone, house made antipasto, crostini. Available for 1 or 2 people. We loved the variety and the portions were hearty (option for one pictured).

Baked Garlic Shrimp – skillet style shrimp, garlic oil and Grana Padano with rustic crostini. My hubby gobbled the whole thing up!

Pasta

Famoso introduced pasta a while back but we haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet! They have a great variety of sauces and pastas including traditional lasagna, fettuccine, linguine with meatballs and more.

Roasted Chicken Fettuccine – roasted chicken breast, cream, butter, Parmesan, Grana Padano served with garlic bread. I love pasta and really enjoyed the flavor. The portion size was really generous!

Pizza

Famoso is known for their original authentic Neapolitan pizza and it does not disappoint. We tried one of their newest feature pizzas which is available with a Campania tomato sauce or Bianco style.

Diablo Bianco – a base of extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic and Italian seasonings, fresh Fior-di-latte, smoked mozzarella, red and green peppers, roasted mushrooms, and a forno roasted chorizo sausage finished with a drizzle of chili oil. The flavor was great and so was the mix of toppings!

Fire Bread Authentic Italian Style Sandwiches

New to the menu with a variety of sandwiches served on a grilled baguette. We had a hard time choosing one to share from the variety including ancient meatball, Italian Philly cheesesteak and the Wise Guy.

Brooklyn Deli (wise guy) – oven crackling baguette, balsamic, olive oil, prosciutto, soppressata, capicola, Provolone, romaine, vine tomatoes and italian drizzle. Our sandwich was served with pomodoro dipping sauce and your choice of fire-roasted tomato bisque, Caesar salad, or napoli salad.

Thank you to Famoso for inviting us to try the new menu items at the Magrath location. Opinions are based on our own reviews from trying a variety of menu items.
