As much as I love to travel, I always find it to be quite stressful. Between packing up the whole family, making sure I have everyone’s travel documents and all the little things like chargers it can be quite overwhelming. A couple of years ago we decided to take some stress off and stay at the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel . Let me tell you it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
We tend to have early morning flights, getting the kids up and everyone out the door is a lot of work! Now we head to the Renaissance Hotel at the Edmonton International Airport for an extra day of vacation! We can check in, take advantage of the amenities offered and put our feet up for a little relaxation before a busy travel day. They also have an amazing restaurant and bar called Halo that you can enjoy a drink or a meal before your flight.
Check in is a breeze with the Marriott Bonvoy app. Since my husband started travelling more with his job, Denny decided to stick with Marriott properties to collect the points. The Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel is one of our favourite Marriott hotel properties to stay at!
He’s able to keep track of his points, check in and out on the app, and book hotels with the touch of a finger. One of the perks with many Marriott properties is having access to the club floor access lounge. When you achieve a certain status based on the amount of stays at their properties, you get this extra perk which we have always enjoyed.
The Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel has an amazing club floor access lounge with breakfast available in the morning as well as appetizers and drinks in the evening for members. We enjoyed some fish tacos and cheese platter paired with crackers, pickles and more. It’s nice to have this lounge to relax in during your stay.
Relax at the Renaissance
Kick your feet up and relax before your next flight from the Edmonton International Airport. The Renaissance Hotel is connected right to the airport. Just take the pedway and you’re there in minutes! It’s so much easier than driving, parking and fumbling with the bags, especially in winter.
Once you check in you can spend some time relaxing in your room or have a drink in the lobby bar. We enjoy having dinner at Halo as well, our kids especially love the kids menu options. It’s nice to have an option right at the hotel for the whole family.
We stayed in the King suite this trip which offers plenty of room for our family of 4. The suite had a separate bedroom with a workstation and a large bathroom with walk in shower. The living room had a pull out couch for the kids and kitchen area with fridge and coffee maker. It was the perfect size for our family and we loved having tv’s in each room so the kids could watch their own shows.
Hotel Amenities
The Renaissance Edmonton Airport hotel offers some great amenities including their fitness centre and pool. Denny and I were able to fit in a work out in the evening and the kids went for a swim to burn some energy! They always sleep so well after swimming which is ideal for us before an early morning flight.
We put them to bed early which gave us some time before our trip to finalize our activities. There is always so much to co-ordinate for a trip. I like having the extra time to make sure I’m organized and ready to go.
Thank you to the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel for the amazing hospitality during our stay. The customer service has always been top notch, I can’t recommend this location enough! We’re excited to catch some zzz’s and head out for our family vacation!
