JW Marriott Vancouver with kids

We packed up the kids and hit the road to Vancouver for a little Spring Break adventure with the kids! With Spring Break being 2 weeks in BC, we booked ourselves an extra long weekend at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. We love this Marriott brand of hotels, they have so much to offer when you stay!

We checked into our room for a three night stay in Vancouver. The room was large and spacious with spectacular views right outside our window! Science World lights up the night with its multitude of coloured lights, our daughter loved watching the light show after dark.

We spent a lot of time in our room this trip, both my hubby and I had work to do and we all enjoyed some rest and relaxation during our stay. It was great to have a large desk space to work at, it was definitely a perk for both of us working remotely. The beds at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver  are so comfortable, I had a hard time getting up every morning. We had two Queen beds during our stay with a large spacious room for our family of four. There were plenty of health and safety protocols in place to help us feel safe during our stay. Masks are required to be worn in all the common areas of the hotel and they have sanitizer stations set up throughout the property including at the front desk and elevators.

The views were breathtaking from our room, we were thankful to just sit and look out the window at the boats passing below. There were so many things to see and do when we spent time exploring outside the hotel as well. The location was walking distance to shopping on Robson street, a quick stroll to the water front and Science World was within walking distance too.

Lunch is Served at Honey Salt

Honey Salt Vancouver

Honey Salt is located right in the lobby of the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver and offers Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner including a kids menu. We headed for lunch and noshed on a variety of dishes. I love that they have a $19 express menu offered at lunch. I was able to choose 3 items within that price and enjoyed my Chicken Tortilla Soup, Roasted Turkey Club sandwich and their famous Brookie for dessert! It was a great value for the amount of food! Denny enjoyed the Tofino Fry and a Charcuterie and Cheese Plate while the kids chowed down on noodles and a cheeseburger. Honey Salt is an instagram worthy restaurant, there are lots of spots to snap photos when you visit!

Explore Vancouver with the Aquabus

Aquabus

Just steps from the hotel is the waterfront where you can catch the Aquabus for an adventure with the kids in Vancouver. We boarded the Aquabus to head to Granville Island. The ferry ride was so fun, we all loved the experience! There are a few different stops along the way that you can hop out at, the day pass includes unlimited travel on all of the routes for one day.

Granville Island with kids

We headed to Granville Island which is a great destination to explore with the kids. I remember going when I was little and loved the Kids Market so much back then. It was fun to see how much our kids loved it too. We spent some time checking out all the stores and left with some fun toys for the children. There’s plenty of stores to explore for adults too, it’s a great destination for the whole family.

The Public Market is FILLED with delicious foods to choose from. From donuts to fudge, baked goods and candy, it was hard for us to choose! We ended up leaving with a variety of sweet treats, our favourite was Lee’s Donuts. We knew they would be good when we saw the line up to buy them! Be sure to go hungry, there’s a bunch of restaurants to choose from too.
