We were invited to check out the Snow Valley Aerial Park as they get set to open for the season this long weekend. Situated beside the Snow Valley Ski Hill, it is quick and accessible off the Whitemud freeway. My kids have always been curious as to what the giant rainbow is on the side of the road so they were excited to check it out!
Between check in and instruction from the staff it takes approx. 20 min before you are all geared up and ready to go. They walk you through how to click yourself into the various lines you can follow and also go through safety demonstrations. The lines are colour coated for difficulty similar to the ski hill, green being the easiest, blue moderate and black the most difficult. There are many different options available including how high you can climb which allows you to choose your own adventure.
My 6 year old was much braver then I was. She wanted to go as high as she could, thankfully the staff helped me out during the media event. There is a height restriction for children, so be sure to check out their website before heading down. You also have the option to book and pay online which will save you $5 per person.
I had a hard time getting her to leave, she was having so much fun! This was a great physical activity to do with the kids and I would definitely recommend it to others to try out. There are not a lot of activities that the whole family can enjoy so this was a great option for an afternoon of fun. The park is officially open for the season on Saturday May 19th!
