As I approach 40 I have been noticing changes to my skin. I will admit I am not big on using all sorts of lotions and potions so it could be partially my fault, but I know a lot of it stems from spending time in the sun. My skin is very sensitive, and for some reason does not like sunscreen so I often skip it unless we are spending the day outdoors. A couple of years ago my first sunspot showed up, I just looked in the mirror one day and there it was on my cheek! What the heck I thought? I’m to young to have a sunspot thats what grandma’s have! But there it was staring back at me in the mirror.
I’ve grown used to it now but it doesn’t mean I like it! I started doing some research on ways to diminish the look of it and discovered a procedure called Photo Rejuvenation at Bliss Yoga Spa.
This treatment safely and comfortably combats:
- pigmentary damage
- fine lines
- refines large pores
- improves the overall texture and appearance of the skin
- hyper pigmentation
- vascular damage
- leg veins
- skin imperfections caused by the sun
- uneven skin tones caused by brown and red spots
This full face procedure was quick and easy, I was done in 35 minutes from start to finish. The treatment is a combination of bi-polar radio frequency and light energies. They start by cleaning the skin and then applying the ultrasound gel to the face. At the most I felt a small pinch when she started the procedure. My treatment was done in 3 passes, the 3rd one to go over the most problematic areas only. You wear goggles and pads to protect your eyes as well.
After the treatment was finished my skin felt a bit tingly in a few spots. After a few hours it became itchy in a few spots but there was no discomfort during or after the treatment. The amount of treatments needed is going to depend on each individual person but it can average anywhere from 2-4. There is no down-time to this procedure although it is recommended to stay out of direct sunlight for a few days. I can expect to see darkening in 3-5 days and then it will skin will slough off in the treatment areas. I am excited to see the results!
