We are always looking for ways to give back as a family, especially during the holidays. We were introduced to the Stocking Stuffers for Seniors program at London Drugs and LOVED the idea of helping seniors who are isolated, low-income or homeless in the Edmonton area by providing gifts to them before Christmas. With the help of families like us the goal is to help approx 4000 seniors in the Edmonton region.
The campaign has expanded to 80 London Drugs stores across Western Canada with the hopes of helping over 15,000 seniors in need, now how amazing is that! This is such a great way to connect our children and the younger generation with giving back to the elderly. Visit www.londondrugs.
Stockings Stuffers for seniors is a customer driven donation drive that allows you to choose the donation you would like to give! Visit London Drugs before December 10th and you can:
-
- Pick a tag from the tree located in the store
-
- Shop for the items you wish to donate from the list
-
- Pay for the items
- London Drugs will take care of delivery to the seniors
The kids and I headed to the Windermere location for a little shopping. After reading through all the tags on the tree, I let the kids chose the seniors they wanted to shop for. We had so much fun picking out blankets, chocolates, magazines, toiletries and more for Edith, Alfredo, Ann Marie and a few others.
It was a great way for our family to give back this holiday season. My son Logan said to me “Mom this makes me feel really good to help these guys out, I’m sure they are going to love what we picked for them!”
