We are BIG fans of the HBC Stripe collection at Hudson’s Bay. The iconic stripe collection has been around forever, I remember my grandparents having their blankets at the lake when I was little! Since then they have come out with an extensive collection of goods every season including clothing, items for your pet, and even some fun collaborations for Christmas!
Fun Fact: The iconic multi stripes of green, red, yellow and indigo were introduced on the Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket at the end of the 18th century. The colours were chosen because they were popular, and easily produced using good colourfast dyes. Fast forward to today and they are popular as ever!
I stopped by Hudson’s Bay in West Edmonton Mall to see all the new items in store for the holidays. There is something for everyone this winter and I love that they have so many items available! With gift giving season upon us, I’m sharing my favourite items from the current HBC stripes collection with you!
New this season is the HBC x Color Me Courtney collection! HBC Stripes has joined forces with Courtney Quinn of Color Me Courtney this season, bringing her quirky, out-of-the-box sense of style to the world of women’s apparel, outerwear, accessories and (of course) coordinating doggie wear. In true Courtney style, they’ve amped-up colour and shaken-up the iconic multi stripe, making sure everyone can “dress outside the lines”.
I LOVE this fun collection using the iconic colours to mix it up with stars, pom poms and more! Bandit and I are twinning in our HBC x Color Me Courtney Women’s Lurex Star Sweater and his Pom Pom Sweater!
Another fun collaboration is with Squish Candies this Christmas! The HBC x Oh! Canada mix (includes frogs, brain freeze, honey bees, vegan eh, Canada gummies, sour peach hearts gummies, green apple strips, strawberry rhubarb gummies, ice cubes, raspberry and blackberry gummies, s’mores bears, wild cherry belts, and wild roses) and the Squish Fresh & Fabulous Gift Box (featuring sour grapefruit, blood orange, strawberry rhubarb, 24 carrot magic, sour peach hearts, black cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavours) both make great gifts for under the tree for all ages! My kids in particular LOVED them!
Our dog Bandit loves to be wherever we are and follows us from room to room often sleeping right at my feet. The HBC Stripes Multi Stripe Dog Bed is perfect for him to sleep on while I’m working away in my office. I’ve set it up beside my desk so he is more comfortable on this plush bed! This adorable dog bed is machine washable with a zipper closure for easy cleaning.
I LOVE matching pjs at this time of year, and the HBC stripes collection has pjs for Men, Women and Kids this season! Logan is wearing the Mens 2 Piece Multi Stripe Family PJ Set. This two-piece pyjama set includes a jersey top and flannel bottoms in the iconic HBC stripes bringing cozy vibes all winter long. With Logan outgrowing kids clothes this year I’m happy that we can still find matching pj’s for the family with him being able to wear a mens small.
Sam is the 13th annual limited-edition Heritage Charity Bear, named after Samuel Hearne. Samuel was tasked by HBC to build its very first inland post, needing to move inland after more than 100 years, in order to compete and stay in business. He built Cumberland house, the start of what eventually became a vast inland network of settlements that carried HBC across the continent.
I love that 100% of net proceeds from the sale of each Heritage Charity Bear will support HEADFIRST mental health programming. HEADFIRST is dedicated to making mental health a priority in every community. My kids LOVE Sam, he makes a great gift for those young and old while also giving back to an organization that helps so many
The iconic HBC Stripes Mittens are available in two different colours and in all sizes for the whole family. They make a great, inexpensive gift for under the tree for family, friends or even a coworker! We love matching items so we HAD to have these mittens for everyone. They are warm, cozy (lined with fleece) and perfect for our cold Canadian winters! I love that they add a classic touch to any winter ensemble. Find them online or in stores for babies and kids as well!
