We wrapped up a 3 week stay in the Kelowna area and my kids are already asking when we can go back! We love spending our summers in Kelowna with the kids, there is so much to see and do while in town! I often get asked all about our visits so I wanted to share with you some of our favorite places to visit as a family.

Where to Stay

Manteo

The location of Manteo can’t be beat! We loved our stay at the hotel, there is so much to do with kids! The biggest draw was the pool with the water-slide and the beach right there for swimming. The kids also loved the playground and the multiple outdoor games like checkers and mini golf available to play.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom king suite that had an amazing view of the lake plus a small kitchen for extended stays which included a fridge, stove and amenities needed. It was great having a separate bedroom so we didn’t have to go to sleep when the kids did!

The hotel has a fabulous restaurant called Smack Dab that offers a kids menu as well. In the mornings hotel guests can enjoy a reasonably priced buffet while sitting out on the dock enjoying the view.

Where to Play

Myra Canyon Adventure Park

Adventure awaits at Myra Canyon Adventure Park! Our family loved the activities offered at this place! Located high up in the hills, with sweeping views to the valley below, you can zip-line and climb your way through multiple courses.

The kids course is perfect for smaller kids and people that are afraid of heights. They have netting around each course and offer a short and long option while on it. Our whole family enjoyed this one and went through it multiple times. The zip-line at the end was my personal favorite!

The 7 tree courses and 1 zip-line is perfect for adults and older kids. The views are AMAZING from that high up as well! This one does have a height restriction so refer to the website for more info before you go. Our 7 and 10 year old LOVED the zip-lines up in the trees. They asked to go on multiple times!

Wibit

We visited the Kelowna Wibit location which is conveniently located downtown on the beach. It’s nice and close to the shore for anyone who wants to sit and watch their families playing. Children age 5-7 require an adult with them (free of charge) and everyone including adults must wear a life jacket.

There are multiple courses to play on including climbing, swinging and sliding. It is perfect for a warm day because you will be spending a lot of time in the lake! We went right when it opened so it wasn’t to busy and we were able to try out all they had to offer. This is a great family activity!

Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm

Discover the beautiful grounds at the Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm and take in a tour, workshop or stop by their apothecary shop for handmade products produced on site. Enjoy a wonder through their garden, a scavenger hunt with the kids and a glass of lavender lemonade at the end.

Admission includes a package of 100% farm grown herbs with a recipe and a wishing tree ribbon. The wishing tree is where you can hang your best wishes for yourself or someone else. It was really neat to read what others had for wishes!

Paynter’s Fruit Market

Located in West Kelowna, Paynter’s Fruit Market offers u-pick fruit from cherries to peaches throughout the summer. They also offer ice cream, fruits, veggies and local made food items in store. I have always wanted to visit an orchard and pick my own fruit so this was a great place to stop for an afternoon. We picked fresh peaches, had an ice cream and shopped for local items while there. The peaches were juicy, sweet and so delicious!

The Beach

A day at the beach is one of our favorite things to do when visiting Kelowna. It is a great way to relax while the kids splash in the water for hours on end. There are plenty of beaches to visit when in the area, but some of them can get quite busy! We discovered Willow Beach in West Kelowna this trip and it is our new favorite! We found it to be a little calmer and the sand area was great for the kids to play in.

Thank you to Tourism Kelowna for partnering with us on this trip. They were amazing to work with providing us all the details we needed for a fun stay. They have a new location on Water Street right in the heart of downtown in Kelowna with a gift shop that is a must visit! Thank you to Manteo Hotel, Splash Parks BC, Myra Canyon Adventure Park and Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm for allowing us to come down for a family experience. Opinions expressed are my own based on family visits.
